Electricity retailers & energy platforms

Know what flexibility you actually have.

You already have to supply your customers’ electricity. Heatr changes when flexible portions need to be purchased and consumed, while protecting the underlying asset and customer requirements.

Heatr turns capacity into usable flexibility.

Know how much can move, in which direction, for how long and when.

Heatr knows the state of the portfolio and prepares flexibility for when it has value.

Know what is available

Connected capacity isn’t available flexibility.

How far demand can move, down or up, depends on the state of the fleet at that moment. Heatr controls each cylinder within its normal operating range, keeping room to switch load on at short notice, and building up stored energy ahead of periods when reducing demand will be valuable.

The value is not the installed MW. It is the available MW Heatr knows it can confidently move.

Heatr observes and controls each connected load, so availability is known before it is relied on. What the retailer does with it comes next.

Shape the portfolio

Shape the portfolio, not just the load.

You already buy electricity for your customers. Heatr coordinates the flexible part of that demand around energy conditions, while respecting what each household and asset needs. Across thousands of loads, the result is a different aggregate demand shape: one you actively manage rather than simply accept.

  • Expensive or tight supply
    Defer available demand
  • Lower-cost supply
    Bring demand forward
  • Abundant generation
    Absorb available energy
  • After a response
    Stagger the recovery

Recovery is part of the value. If deferred demand all returns at once, it can simply land in another expensive period and give back part of what the shift created. Heatr staggers the recovery across the portfolio.

Demand that can follow generation.

Flexible demand does not need to follow a fixed schedule. Heatr can continuously reshape available demand as conditions change: increasing it when renewable generation is abundant, and reducing or shifting it when generation falls or the system becomes constrained.

Solar follows a changing daily profile. Wind can rise or fall more rapidly. Available flexible demand can respond with it, within the requirements of the connected assets.

Where the value lands

What a shaped portfolio is worth.

Knowing what can move, and moving it at the right time, turns the flexible part of your customers’ demand into commercial value.

Wholesale optimisation

Buy less energy at expensive times.

Move flexible consumption away from expensive wholesale periods and toward lower-cost periods.

Portfolio shaping

Manage your demand profile, not just accept it.

Actively reshape aggregate flexible demand rather than accepting the uncontrolled demand profile. The result is a demand shape you can plan around, rather than one you simply react to.

Hedge and procurement optimisation

Know what you can move before you buy for it.

Heatr isn’t a hedge in itself. But when you can rely on how much flexibility will be available, when, in which direction, for how long, and how the portfolio responds when called, it changes the residual demand you need to cover. That can reduce or reshape forward purchasing and hedging.

Behind the customer experience

Heatr changes when energy is consumed, not when customers use the service it provides.

For hot water, customers keep using hot water normally while heating moves behind the scenes. The flexibility doesn’t depend on asking customers to change their habits.

New retail propositions

Controllable demand could support new products.

Controllable flexible demand can enable new ways of selling electricity to customers. Fixed-price hot water is one example: a retailer could offer a fixed price for hot water in exchange for control over when that energy is purchased and consumed, while Heatr protects the customer’s required hot-water availability.
